Born in Camden in 1923, Larry Doby was the second African American to be admitted to the Major League as well as the first to be admitted to the American League. His played with the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, and the Detroit Tigers. He also played briefly with the Chunichi Dragons from Japan. Along with his list of accomplishments while playing, Larry Doby managed the White Sox. He was admitted to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998. (Submitted by Allen Von Plinsky)
