Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

The plantation dates back to 1676 but reached the height of its prosperity in the Antebellum Age largely due to insidious slave labor. The dark history of the plantation which grew mainly rice is belied by the opulent beauty of the home and grounds. You can take a self-guided tour around the property and you'll be sure to see at least one of the many alligators living here. You can take one of the themed guided tours too, one of which will take you the area where the slaves lived. Before or after your tour stop at the Peacock Cafe for breakfast or lunch.
