Description:
At the start of the arms race between the USSR and America, a bomb fell out of a fighter plane and landed at this spot in 1958. What used to be the Gregg's family farm became a crater after the 6,000 pounds of explosives went kaboom. Some poor chickens died but no human casualties resulted from this giant gaff. Fortunately, the plutonium core did not detonate and harmful radiation was contained. The crater is located on private property so be sure to obtain permission before satisfying your curiosity.
