This gorgeous rice plantation was built in the early to mid-1700s with landscaping inspired by English gardens. In the 1900s, the Middleton heirs worked tirelessly to restore the grounds to its Antebellum-era state. You have your choice between a guided or self-guided tours - either one will give you an in-depth view of the plantation. Inside the house, many of the original furniture, artwork, and housewares are displayed. It remains under the care of the Middleton family who has undertaken a mission to document the thousands of slaves forced to work the land.
