The Rice Museum in Georgetown, SC opened in 1970 for the South Carolina Tricentennial. Initially, it occupied only 750 square feet in the Town Clock building, focusing on the history of rice agriculture in Georgetown County. Now celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2020, the museum has expanded its exhibit space by tenfold, featuring the Rice Museum Shop and Prevost Gallery at 633 Front St., Georgetown, SC. Visitors can explore a wide array of unique gifts, jewelry, home accents, books, and more, including works by local craftsmen and artists, as well as museum collections from around the world. All profits from the Rice Museum Shop and Prevost Gallery support the museum's programs. (Submitted by Kelli Seeman-Smith)
