The Citadel

This military college was established in 1842 and is now one of six senior colleges in the U.S., where cadets can earn bachelor's degrees. The lustrous white buildings were constructed on 300 acres of land near the Ashley River. Alumni of this college have served in every American conflict from the Mexican-American War to the invasion in Iraq.
