Buffalo Ridge Ghost Town

The Buffalo Ridge Ghost Town in Buffalo Ridge, South Dakota is an 1880 cowboy town with staged gunfights, hangings, and pilgrim shrines that was built in the 1960s but feels like the 1880s except for one thing - the town is totally animated and is populated only by robots! At least, that's what is advertised but we're not talking "Westworld" here! The "robots" come to life with a push of a button or a step on a pressure plate (but that doesn't mean they'll spark fully to life). More animatronic than robot, the displays are repaired annually which leaves some of them less than perfectly repaired. Nonetheless, Buffalo Ridge still remains a worthwhile place to visit.
