Geographic Center of the Nation Monument

Once marked only with a pole stuck in the ground, the Geographic Center of the Nation Monument hasn't changed since August 21, 1959 when Hawaii became the 50th state. So in 2008, on the anniversary of Hawaii's statehood, an elaborate "Geographic Center of the Nation" monument was dedicated and it's close to major highways, in town behind the Visitor Center, with a parking lot and rest rooms!
