Sage Creek Basin Overlook

View the largest mixed-grass prairie in the United States from the Sage Creek Basin Overlook in Wall, SD. The Badlands formations which have almost entirely eroded reveal the more suitable underlying terrain for grasslands soil development. Many trails here are visible through the area, but these trails are not created or maintained by the park. These are game trails created by bison. The overlook is a beautiful area, but the road to get there is a horrible gravel road that could wreak havoc on your car so an SUV or similar is required. Still, what other place could you visit that has bison walking around your campsite in the morning?
