Description:

Wall Drug Store in Wall, South Dakota began in 1931 when Ted and Dorothy Hustead purchased a struggling drugstore. To attract customers, Dorothy put up signs along the highway offering free ice water. This simple advertising tactic proved incredibly successful, leading to the expansion of the store's offerings and the addition of more signs along the highways. Today, Wall Drug Store is a renowned tourist attraction with multiple buildings, offering free ice water, 5-cent coffee, and a variety of Western-themed attractions and merchandise.
