Description:

The White River Visitor Center on the Pine Ridge Reservation is a great way to explore the cultural importance of the Badlands National Park through the various museum exhibits or by simply speaking with the rangers about the Badlands and treaties in the Lakota heritage. Here you can find some maps or have your passport stamped as well as staffed information desks, restrooms, picnic tables, and exhibits. The center also includes ramp entrances and spacious presentations that are wheelchair-friendly. Impromptu historical and cultural talks with the rangers are available by request, as are audio-described and text-only brochures. No animals are allowed in the visitor center except certified service animals. If entering the Badlands from the South, stop in for a stay but take notice that this visitor center is seasonal and it is closed in the winter. Also, there's no gift shop at this location.
