Description:

In 1901, the "World's Shortest Tunnel" was blasted through a slim wall of rock rising 75 feet high. This rocky doorway was necessary in order to haul timber. A road open to vehicle traffic passes through the hole while a beautiful trail runs along the top of Backbone Rock.
