Cable, a prominent resident of the area. The cabin was later purchased by Carter Shields, who lived there with his family in the early 1900s. Shields was a prominent member of the community and was known for his skills as a blacksmith and farmer. The cabin is a popular tourist attraction and is open to the public for self-guided tours.
