Description:
A 1,000-acre park on the south side of Knoxville was an earthen fort that was integral site during the Civil War. Today it's a nice green area within a sprawling urban city. It's location to the Tennessee River means that you'll be able to choose from a variety of activities nearby such as and shopping or touring museums. The Fort Dickerson Trail was a favorite for mountain bikers, but hikers like to trek through also, especially those looking for the quarry as a respite from a hot summer day.
