Pigeon Forge Gem Mine

The Pigeon Forge Gem Mine is a recreation of gem mines of the 1800s in North Carolina. Those Carolinian mines proved too much work for too few gems so they closed down. Pigeon Forge brings back those days but they guarantee you'll be much more successful panning for gems than those miners in the 1800s. After you gather your rocks, bring them to the Assayer to be identified. Then a professional stone cutter will polish the gem, preparing it for a setting you choose.
