The hike to Ramsey Cascades is approximately 8 miles round trip and is considered a strenuous hike due to its steep inclines and rocky terrain. However, the stunning views of the cascades make it worth the effort. The trail follows the Ramsey Prong which is a crystal-clear mountain stream that eventually leads to the cascades. The cascades themselves are an impressive sight with water plunging more than 100 feet down a series of cascading falls. The water is particularly beautiful in the fall when the leaves of the surrounding trees turn a brilliant array of colors. It's important to note that visitors should be prepared for the hike which can take several hours to complete. Proper footwear, water, and snacks are essential for a safe and enjoyable experience.
