Description:
This is a must-see for Civil War buffs. The park preserves the history of the Shiloh and Corinth battlegrounds. Stand on the same ground where 65,000 Union troops and 44,000 Confederates fought. Afterwards you can visit the Shiloh National Cemetery in which 3,584 Union soldiers were buried. Most of that number are unknown. There is also older history preserved here - the Shiloh Indian Mounds Site was inhabited by indigenous peoples more than 1,000 years ago.
