Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight Ranch

Restored on its original site this historic landmark features the 1887 Victorian style home of the famous Texas rancher and his wife. Plenty of history is on display at the J. Evetts Haley Visitor and Education Center which offers exhibits about the Goodnights, bison, and transportation and settlement of the area. This is an interesting piece of Texas history and a family legacy that continues to define the panhandle. Entry to the home is by tour only, but you can walk the grounds, watch the videos, and look in the windows of the home for free. (Submitted by CJ Boales)
