Colorado Bend State Park

This is a favorite spot in Texas, a state park with plenty of activities such as hiking to Gorman Falls, swimming in Spicewood Springs, or fishing and paddling in the river. You can also take a cave tour or ride your bike on designated trails. Passes must be reserved in advance by phone or online. They cost $5 per person. Call (512) 389-8900 for more details. The park is west of Lampasa, southeast of San Saba. From the intersection of U.S. Highways 281 and 183 in Lampasas take FM 580 west 24 miles to Bend and follow the signs four miles to the park entrance. (Submitted by Donna Davis)
