Description:
Named after the Luckenbach family whose descendants were from what is today known as Germany the town enjoyed a brief period of prosperity. It was established in the 1850s, its population reaching almost 500 in the early 1900s. Thereafter, the town went into decline and is virtually a ghost town with residents numbering less than 5. Luckenbach still has visitors even if permanent residents can be counted on one hand. It is known as a country music venue and often hosts live music events on weekends.
