Description:
Built in the 1930s the dam helped control frequent flooding of the Llano River. In fact the flooding had been so bad that the first bridge of 1892 had been completely swept away in 1932. A second bridge, the four-span structure you see here today, was completed in 1936. Called the Roy Inks Bridge, it crosses almost directly over the dam. The bridge offers a great view of the dam where you'll find daredevils waiting for an audience as they dive from the dam. This dam is a great location to spend the day where there is swimming, a splash pad, and dusk golf.
