Description:
It's really a giant man-made crater built into the ground by Shell Oil in the 1920s, with a small building designated as the "museum." Shell thought it would be a good idea to build this large cavity to hold excess crude oil. Maybe they needed to rethink this plan, though. A simple crack made the oil seep back into the ground. Now it is a great place to have tailgate parties and Texas-style cook-offs.
