Monahans Sandhills State Park

A nice little state park is located conveniently off the highway. It's famous for sand dunes and native plants and animals. Amazingly the wildlife thrives in an inhospitable environment making it a great place for nature lovers. There aren't any trails so you're free to wander where you'd like. People love horseback riding, sand-disk sliding, and hiking. The park is in the middle of three Texas towns, all of which are great for shopping, eating, and sightseeing.
