Description:

J. Wright Moore, who was known to kill more than 20,000 bison, slaughtered this rare animal in 1876. The hide, which Teddy Roosevelt supposedly offered a princely sum for, still is owned by Moore's descendants. This is the second statue of Moore's kill; the first was a fiberglass male, but after it was discovered that the hide belonged to a female, it was replaced with a more anatomically correct bronze-cast female.
