Description:

The Stagecoach Inn in Salado, Texas began in the mid nineteenth century as a stop along the Chisholm Trail and quickly became a popular rest point for travelers and notable guests such as Sam Houston and Jesse James. Over time it evolved into a historic inn and restaurant and is now listed on both the Texas Historical Landmark registry and the National Register of Historic Places. The restaurant is known for longtime favorites including hush puppies, tomato aspic, and the Strawberry Kiss dessert along with newer dishes like goat cheese dip, fried chicken salad, grilled pork chop with peach chutney, and prime rib.
