The Big Tree

Saves: 30
Check-ins: 3
The oldest tree in Texas is estimated to be 1,000 to 2,000 years old. It truly is massive with a trunk measuring about 35 feet around and height of 44 feet. It has survived almost 50 major hurricanes, Texas droughts, and a shell bombardment during the Civil War. Although it is indeed big it is no longer the biggest - that distinction has been bestowed on another tree in Brazoria County. The Big Tree is open from 8 AM to 10 PM. No climbing on the tree is permitted.
