Big John Muffler Man was built by International Fiberglass in 1964. Because he is a coal miner, he is painted in a high-shine glossy black paint. A coal-miner's pick axe and hard hat are his only accessories while he guards the Helper Civic Auditorium. (Photo by Jimmy Olsen)
