The viewpoint is named after a local family, the Boyntons, who were among the first pioneers to settle in the area. You can access the Boynton Overlook via a short, well-marked trail that leads from the parking area to the viewpoint. The trail is relatively easy and suitable for most visitors, although it does require some light hiking. It's also wheelchair-accessible.
