Description:

This 88-foot-tall lighthouse is very prominent - rising up out of the curiously dry Utah landscape. Why a lighthouse exists in this landlocked area with no body of water in sight might be mysterious, but there seems to be a reason. It was built in the event that a huge earthquake would submerge the state of California into the Pacific, thus making Utah the new West Coast. Thankfully, the lighthouse hasn't been needed just yet and hopefully won't be needed in the future.
