Description:
Dead Horse Point State Park is a beautiful natural area located in Utah. The park is situated on a mesa which provides incredible panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. The park's name comes from a dark legend about a group of cowboys who herded wild mustangs onto the mesa for round-up, but then left them stranded without water or food. Trapped without escape, the horses died of thirst, hence the park's name "Dead Horse Point."
