Lava Point Overlook
This moderately trafficked out-and-back trail near Virgin, Utah is a good trail for all experience levels. The 0.3-mile path called Lava Point Overlook (accessible from May until October) is for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips. The Lava Point overlook is the highest point in Zion National Park where the views are outstanding. Looking west, you'll see the North and South Guardian Angels. Looking east, check out the valley scenery. From atop this 7890 foot all precipice you can see nearly everything in the entire park. If you're not in the mood for a hike, drive up to this vista which provides a view you won't soon forget. The Lava Point location is off Kolob Terrace Rd. 25 miles north of Virgin, Utah. The 0.3-mile walk from the parking area to the lookout is easy. A short trail leads to a small campground with benches and a picnic table for your convenience.
