Description:

Construction of the temple began in 1871 and was completed in 1877. The temple was originally built to serve members of the church in southern Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. It was designed by the LDS Church's chief architect at the time, Truman O. Angell, and features a Gothic Revival style with a white limestone exterior. The St. George Utah Temple has undergone several renovations and refurbishments over the years, including an extensive renovation that began in 2019 and was completed in 2022. The renovation included seismic upgrades, restoration of the original exterior, and updates to the interior, including the addition of new murals.
