Description:
Eerie, minimalist concrete tunnels are placed in an X-formation in the Great Desert Basin. This 22-ton work of art was created by Nancy Holt who bought the 40 acres of land on which the tunnels lie. Although the land was purchased by the artist, the tunnels are accessible to all for exploration. Drive I-80 to Wendover, then take Exit 4 to the Bonneville Salt Flats Speedway. Take the TL Bar Ranch Road for 45.5 miles (try zeroing out your odometer). Most cars can make the trip but you might want to consider using a 4WD heavy on horsepower during rainy season.
