Rock of Ages
The Smith Granite Quarry is an astounding 600 feet deep surrounded on all sides by gleaming white rock. It may be the largest granite hole of its type in the world. The colossal factory is 160,000 square feet where artisans chisel away at freshly hewn rock in order to create striking masterpieces such as grave markers, mausoleums, and jewelry. They use precision tools such as diamond tips and lasers. After the tour, head to the gift shop to buy your granite wares such as desk clocks and mortars with pestles.
