Description:
The Royal Diner in West Brattleboro, Vermont, also known as the Chelsea Royal Diner, was built in 1939 by the Worcester Lunch Car Company as Worcester Diner #736 and later moved from downtown Brattleboro to its current location. Restored with its vintage 1958 roadside sign and original features like the barrel ceiling and double front doors, the diner has become a beloved landmark blending historic charm with local flavor. Known for using fresh Vermont ingredients and its popular homemade “Royal Madness” ice cream, it has long served as a community favorite. After a brief closure in 2023, the diner reopened in 2024, continuing its legacy as a classic New England gathering place.
