Description:
Named after the Ambler family these ruins were once a stately mansion built in 1750. Fire destroyed it on three separate occasions but it was restored the first two times. It seems the Ambler family gave up after the third fire in 1895. Some websites claim the ruins are haunted by a woman who committed suicide on the property, but there's no verification of this story. The ruins are a part of Historic Jamestowne and thus an admission fee is charged. See the nps.gov website for more details. Hours are 9 to 5:30 every day.
