Also known as "Allen's Brick House" for the red blocks mortared together in perfect alignment, this castle has some distinctive features that make it a singular structure. It is the country's only surviving Jacobean structure, an architectural style that was fashionable in the 17th century. It is also the oldest brick home in the U.S. at 352 years old. The English garden is also the oldest landscaped garden in the U.S. dating back to the same period of time.
