Description:

Located in the depths of Luray Caverns and using the natural cavern walls for excellent acoustics sits what seems to be a normal organ. It was built in 1954 by Pentagon scientist Leland Sprinkle who used mathematics and electronics principles to make his masterpiece. The sounds are produced when rubber mallets tap the various stalactites to produce precisely pitch perfect tones. Luray Caverns is open every day from 9 AM to 6 PM and costs $30 per adult for admission. To get there travel on Lee Hwy and turn on Cave Hill Rd. You will see the parking lot on your left-hand side.
