Description:
The Sydenstricker Schoolhouse, built in 1928 in Springfield, Fairfax County, Virginia, was once the heart of education and social life for the community. Now, it serves as a vibrant community center, preserving its historical charm while continuing to play an active role in the area. As the last nearly original one-room schoolhouse from the early 20th century in Fairfax County, it remains structurally intact on its original site. Although it closed as a school in 1939, it has been maintained by the Upper Pohick Community League since 1954, preserving its legacy and community value.
