Description:

This marvelous granite Victorian Gothic building was completed in 1894 and was in danger of being destroyed a couple of times in the 1900s. Fortunately, the city of Richmond made the right choice and kept the building open, using it for offices. Now designated a National Historic Landmark, we can rest easy that it will not be torn down to erect a mall.
