Virginia Aquarium

A total volume of 800,000 gallons is home to 700 species of animals with a population of 12,000 individuals. As a center of conservation and research, the aquarium also conducts the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of turtles and seals. Activities included with admission include the mobile Curiosity Carts with select animals on display and Meet a Live Animal Ambassador. Monday is a popular day to visit when you can see a live mermaid swimming in the Red Sea Aquarium and enjoy a story or puppet show with her.
