Virginia Zoological Park

This animal park is one that lets visitors see the inner workings of their medical treatment of the zoo inhabitants. Vet staff will explain the procedures including dietary preparation. On the 53-acre property, there are lush gardens for visitors to enjoy. They also provide food for many of the herbivorous animals in the zoo. Every day, an animal ambassador tours the grounds looking for people who want to see a snake, lizard, tortoise, bird, or opossum up close.
