The first one was built in 1870, but needed to be replaced twice - in 1888 and 1904. The 114-foot -long bridge is the only covered bridge remaining in Pocahontas County. Only pedestrian traffic is permitted. The drive there is scenic and pretty especially in the fall. Nearby attractions include the Gesundheit! Institute founded by Patch Adams and the Pearl S.
