Description:

Over 3,000 feet long and rising more than 800 feet high, this steel arch bridge is framed by the backdrop of the Appalachian Mountains. It was opened in 1977 to vehicle traffic although it closes down every year for the Fayette County's "Bridge Day" Festival. The more lion-hearted (and better financed) travelers can partake in the Bridge Walk Tour for $70 per person. On this tour, you'll be guided across the steel frame, held secure by ropes and hooks.
