West Virginia Veterans Memorial

The West Virginia Veterans Memorial is a distinctive, two-story oval monument dedicated to the memory of over 10,000 West Virginians who bravely gave their lives in defense of our nation during the twentieth century. The memorial features four imposing limestone monoliths arranged around a serene reflecting pool. Within its walls, polished black granite bears the names of these courageous men and women, etched for posterity. This remarkable tribute was conceptualized and crafted by the talented P. Joseph Mullins, who also sculpted four compelling figures symbolizing the major conflicts of the twentieth century and the four principal branches of our military service. (Submitted by Chris Wise)
