Description:

Opened in 2001 as Miller Park, American Family Field was built to replace Milwaukee County Stadium and give the Milwaukee Brewers a modern home featuring one of baseball’s most distinctive retractable roofs, designed to handle Wisconsin’s unpredictable weather. The stadium was constructed between 1996 and 2001 at a cost of roughly $400 million and quickly became a Milwaukee landmark, hosting the 2002 MLB All-Star Game just one year after opening. In 2021, the ballpark was renamed American Family Field following a new naming-rights agreement with Wisconsin-based American Family Insurance, while continuing its role as the home of the Brewers.
