During the last Ice Age, retreating glaciers carved out amazing shapes creating otherworldly formations such as these caves. If you want to explore them in person, you have two options: go in the coldest month of the year when the caves are blanketed from ceiling to "floor" with thick ice; or go in the summer when you can access the caves via kayak.
