Description:

Focused on preserving wood type letterpress printing, this museum is housed in an old factory started by JE Hamilton in 1880. In addition to once being the largest wood type factory in the U.S., Hamilton also produced specialized furniture for doctors' offices, drafters, and even babies! The company also manufactured the first gas-powered clothes dryer. You can choose between self-guided or guided tours which will take you through the factory and its 1.5 million pieces of wood type in more than 1,000 styles and sizes.
