Description:
The World's Largest Penny, made of concrete block and measuring 10 feet in diameter and 18 inches thick, weighing 17,452 pounds, was dedicated as a tribute to the staff and students of Arbor Vitae-Woodruff School. This monumental penny reflects Dr. Kate Pelham Newcomb's vision for a local hospital and the community spirit of Woodruff and Arbor Vitae residents, along with civic groups who contributed labor, materials, and fundraising efforts.
