When you are standing in front of the Ames Brothers Pyramid, you are also standing atop the highest point of First Transcontinental Railroad. Named for Oakes and Oliver Ames, financiers of the Union Pacific Railroad, the pyramid was designed by Civil War Era architect Henry Hobson Richardson.
